Anesthesia for Outpatient Plastic Surgery
Plastic and reconstructive surgery in the ambulatory outpatient setting requires an anesthesia team that prioritizes patient comfort, minimizes nausea and recovery room time, and understands the nuances of longer cosmetic procedures. Capitol Anesthesiology provides experienced, physician-led anesthesia for plastic and reconstructive surgical cases at surgery centers across greater Atlanta.

Our anesthesiologists are attentive to the quality of each patient's emergence and recovery, understanding that how a patient feels in the hours after a cosmetic or reconstructive procedure matters as much as the surgical result itself.
Plastic Surgery Procedures We Support
We provide anesthesia services for a broad range of outpatient plastic and reconstructive procedures, including:
Breast augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction
Abdominoplasty and body contouring procedures
Liposuction
Facelift, brow lift, and other facial rejuvenation procedures
Blepharoplasty and eyelid surgery
Rhinoplasty
Reconstructive procedures following trauma or cancer treatment
Other ambulatory cosmetic and reconstructive cases
Anesthesia Considerations in Plastic Surgery
Plastic and reconstructive surgery cases often involve longer operative times, prone or lateral positioning, and patients with specific preoperative goals around recovery. Our anesthesiologists plan carefully for each of these factors, using anesthetic techniques designed to minimize postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), support smooth emergence, and promote the best possible recovery experience.
We work closely with each plastic surgeon and surgery center team to understand case-specific requirements and coordinate anesthesia planning accordingly.
Physician-Led Anesthesia for Every Procedure
All plastic surgery anesthesia at Capitol Anesthesiology is provided under the Anesthesia Care Team model. Board-certified physician anesthesiologists direct all care, either personally administering anesthesia or medically supervising CRNAs and CAAs on each case.
