Capitol Anesthesiology was built on a simple but unwavering principle: every patient deserves safe, expert anesthesia care, delivered by a team that is fully invested in their outcome. For more than two decades, we have put that principle into practice at ambulatory surgery centers across the greater Atlanta area.
We are exclusively focused on outpatient anesthesia, and that focus has allowed us to develop the kind of deep, specialized expertise that broad hospital-based practices cannot always offer. Our team knows the rhythms of ambulatory surgery. We understand what it takes to support a high-volume case day, to manage a diverse surgical schedule, and to keep patients safe, comfortable, and on track to go home the same day.
Our Anesthesia Care Team
Capitol Anesthesiology is led by physician anesthesiologists, board-certified MDs with full training in perioperative medicine and anesthesia management. Our physicians both personally administer anesthesia and medically direct our anesthetist team under the Anesthesia Care Team model recognized by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Physician Anesthesiologists
Our MD-level anesthesiologists bring decades of combined clinical experience to every case. They oversee all anesthesia plans, direct care team members, and are present and accountable throughout every procedure we cover.
CRNAs
Our Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists are advanced practice clinicians with specialized training in anesthesia delivery. Working under physician medical direction, they are a core part of our care team across all surgical specialties.
CAAs
Our Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants hold master's-level training and work exclusively under physician supervision. The CAA credential has deep roots in Atlanta, where Emory University and Case Western Reserve University were among the first programs in the country to train CAAs. Georgia is a full-practice state for CAAs, and our practice reflects that tradition of excellence.
